Kalpitiya peninsula is located 100km north of the Colombo airport and the transport takes approx. 2,5 hours.

By car From the airport (Colombo) area you go north via A3 main road to Palavi junction (just 5km before Puttalam). In Palavi junction you turn left to Kalpitiya. After 20km, at the Alankuda junction, turn left towards the ocean (not lagoon), after going 1.7km with School Road turn righ (at the pink mosque), after 1.2km turn left (at the tomb), this sandy road will take you to Dune Towers.

By bus From the airport area you can catch a bus on the A3 Negombo road (1km from the airport - by TukTuk max. LKR 600). White coloured bus named "Puttalam Express" or "Mannar Express" is much faster than normal bus. Anyway, your final destination is Puttalam or Palavi junction (which is closer to Dune Towers but allows just limited time to get out of bus). Then you can take a bus to Kalpitiya and get out at Alankuda junction and from here you take a TukTuk for LKR 400 (tell driver that you go to beach site behind Christophoer land). We recommend you to use our TukTuk transport from Palavi / Puttalam directly to Dune Towers for just LKR 3000 which saves you at least one hour or more.
